Casa Cuadrada

Enjoy these lovely photos of Casa Cuadrada – the L.A. home of architect/author Tom Marble and his artist/wife, Pae White.  I think they’ve really struck a nice balance here – it’s contemporary, yet liveable.

I’m also seriously jealous of that cartoon bathmat.  I’ll be trolling ebay for my own humourous bathmat all weekend now.

On that note – hope you all have a great weekend!

‘Field Work’ Pop Up Shop

Caitlin Hinshelwood and Rose de Borman (two creative types who are both illustrators and textile designers) are opening up a pop up shop and gallery in an unused shop at tomorrow night. They’ll be featuring works by Neal Jones, Luke Best, Huw Griffiths, and many many others.

The shop upstairs will be offering textiles, homewares, taxidermy, antiques and artists books.  The gallery downstairs will feature prints and works on paper for sale.

How very exciting, no?!

Mr. Roland Bello

Enjoy these truly lovely interiors from photographer Roland Bello.

There are some really inspirational pieces in here – that pie piece table? The coatstand crawling with animals??  The printed sofas?!  The silhouettes?!?

Sheesh.

Ralston & Bau

Check out this brillaint ‘Redesign’ line of products from Norway’s Ralston & Bau.

In an effort to be environmentally friendly they’ve designed products (lamps, cake stands and candle holders) that are formed from old plant pots, teacups, lampshades, and teapots.

All the original objects were sourced from Fretex (a division of Norway’s Salvation Army.)

1950’s Glamour

On this cold, October Friday enjoy some sunny, mid-century L.A. eye-candy.  (I swore I’d never use a word like ‘eye-candy’ but oh well.)  This home (right no less) is the Singleton House, designed by the legendary architect Richard Neutra.

Lucky for you, it’s on the market (a cool $15 million – excellent!)

I’m loving all those big boulders.
