Sundara Rugs

BACK to reality.   I’ve returned from my 38 degree holiday to a cool 16.  (That’s 101 to 61 for you fahrenheit fans.)

In any case – back to important things… like rugs.  And oh, how I love Donna Wilson’s new Sundara range with SCP.

This woman is a machine!

Now that the first cold snap of the season has arrived it seemed an appropriate time to do a blanket round-up.  Blankets make great gifts – they’re practical and last forever, and aren’t something a recipient feels pressured to always have on display!

In my quest for blankets I came across too many to include in one post, so I’m splitting it into two.  Many of my picks are Welsh tapestry blankets (or modern interpretations.)  I’m totally obsessed with these blankets at the moment – they are beautiful, timeless, unique and will last a lifetime.

Enjoy… stay warm… and look forward to a non-tapestry batch tomorrow!

*Blankets from top to bottom: fawn and grey tapestry from Jen Jones, geometric tapestry from The Great English Outdoors,  Nos Da by Donna Wilson for SCP, reversible throw from Jane Beck, vintage amber, blue and black tapestry from Jen Jones, vintage green tapestry from Retrouvius, Knot Garden throw from Melin Tregwynt.

With the cold air descending, I thought I’d share some of my picks to get us all settled in for the fall.  A thick scarf, woollen socks, a wall clock (clocks go back in a few weeks!), a tea cosy, and even a chair (get back to work, summer’s over!) – it’s all here.  I’ve come across quite a few lovely blankets – so watch this space for a ‘blanket round-up’ in the coming weeks!

From top left: Zeppelin print from Valero Doval, Pocket Shirt from Folk, grey scarf from Cos, orange clock by Naoto Fukasawa from twentytwentyone, Selvage Tug Wool bag by Bill Amberg, tea cosy by Labour and Wait, shoe trolleys from baileys home and garden, Chocolate Cable Knit socks by Paul Smith, Nos Da throw by Donna Wilson from SCP,  Gentleman’s Cap from Rapha, and Arris chair from MARK.

Check out these new blankets, cushions and ‘pouffes’ (ha!) from Donna Wilson available at SCP.  The blankets and cushion are specially dyed and spun in England and woven by a mill in Wales that has been in the same family for over a century. The pouffes are made from Scottish wool.  It’s a 100% UK affair!

I’d take one of her pouffes over a beanbag any day.
